Preservation and Resoration
Besides reenacting and providing educational programs the 125th NY is dedicated to preserving Civil War sites throughout the Capital District and around the country.
In the past several years the 125th has given thousands of dollars to the Civil War Preservation Trust.
It has also adopted the 125th Regimental Monument at Gettysburg National Park, paid for the restoration of the surviving 125th Regimental Flags that belong to the NYS Military Museum, donated money to other reenactor organizations so that hey can preserve their flags and worked to restore and rededicate Civil War veteran's gravesite through out the Capital District.

The members of the 125th also help to locate and preserve the gravesites of the original 125th members. Many hours have been spent cleaning grave sites and making sure they stay in good condition.
Currently known gravesites have been compiled into a spreadsheet, so we can keep track of which graves have been located. If you have a grave location you like to have added, please feel free to add it to the google spreadsheet linked below.
